The Lifeworks Saturday club show off their silky skills
Lifeworks Saturday Club enjoyed a beautiful and very active day in Dartington. As it was the final weekend of the 6 Nations Rugby and the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup the group decided on both a game of rugby and football. There were some silky skills on show, with Aaron displaying his talents with the rugby ball both with his passing and catching.
The girls impressed too with the football, no doubt taking inspiration from England’s Lionesses recent successes. It was a great afternoon, seeing everyone getting involved and a superb way to stay active and healthy, whilst having a great time.
Morning in the kitchen
Our engaging enrichment programmes also includes the use of arts, health, and wellbeing. This Saturday the group spent the morning in the Lifeworks kitchen, supported by our excellent and dedicated staff preparing and cooking one of their favourite dishes, a delicious homemade lasagne!
There was a buzz in kitchen with everyone pitching in with their different roles and responsibilities. Some carefully chopping up healthy vegetables, whilst others delicately grated theirs. With all the ingredients in place they were added to the pans alongside the mince and continue to fry, breaking up any large chunks, until the meat was brown all over and seasoned with salt and pepper. Once completely browned, the tomato purée was added and mixed in well.
Then this was added into the dishes and layering lasagne sheets and béchamel, making sure that all the lasagne sheets are completely covered. Then topped with cheese and into the oven.! You can tell by smiles the group had a fantastic morning and even kept smiling when they had to wash up! A great team effort
