Lifeworks Christmas Panto

Lifeworks students bring joy and laughter

Lifeworks students put on an amazing pantomime performance to a specially invited audience at Dartington Hall.  Parents, careers and a large group from the Totnes Primary Care Network attended this magical performance.

Local poet and performer, Jonathan Mason, who kindly coordinated the whole panto said; “Our main focus for the students was 3 things, that the students had fun, fun and more fun! Being on stage can be a daunting prospect, but everyone stuck to our manta and as such had an amazing time. I don’t think I have seen so much excitement, smiling faces and laughter. It was a really joyful day!

It’ll be all White on the Night

The pantomime story mixed  a number of themes chosen by the  Lifeworks Students….

It was Christmas Eve at the North Pole -preparations for Christmas are underway. The Nasty Ugly Sisters are picking on poor Snow White, who is consoled by her big sister, her best friend and her pet duck. Meanwhile, on Planet Evil, Puke Skywalker and Evil Shrek are causing trouble as Captain America rages about his wife leaving him broke. They hatch an Evil Plan to kidnap Alice In Wonderland (as she is so happy and rich) and hold her to ransom. There is a funny kidnap scene as Alice in Wonderland becomes Alice on Planet Evil, until Snow White remembers her old friends, the Seven Dwarfs, who are called upon (Thunderbirds style) to bravely rescue Alice (which they do, of course) and they all return to the North Pole, just in time for Christmas – for forgiveness, reconciliation and our festive celebrations.

Thank You

A BIG thank you to everyone at the Ivybridge Brewery Co. for making the day so special and providing much needed refreshments. The Ivybridge Brewing Company is a social enterprise brewery that provides paid work, training and volunteering opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

We are all so grateful for their time, effort and support for Lifeworks

A Special Thank You to SJ

It is all change at Community Projects! After many years of putting her heart and soul into making the Saturday groups and holiday programmes exciting adventures, S-J is moving on to pastures new.  We will all miss her passion, enthusiasm and fun, but wish her well in her future endeavours.  As you may have read in our CEO’s recent letter, Community Projects will now be run by Lifeworks’ College and we look forward to building on the great work that has already been achieved.’

COMMUNITY PROGRAMMES YOUTH GROUPS

Our Community Projects are co-designed by the young people themselves. Our young people should decide what their tomorrow looks like. So, with their ideas, hopes and aspirations we work with a network of local community partners to make it happen. Whether you already join us on Community Programmes or are new and interested in giving something a go – we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us to have a chat: communityprojects@lifeworkscollege-uk.org or call 01803 861069
